Dry Heat Sterilizers

  • Inner chamber constructed of SS 316L (or SS 304 with SS 316/L option)for corrosion resistance and GMP compatibility.
  • Temperature range typically from ambient up to ~300 °C(for example “room temperature to 300 °C” in large pharma models) to allow sterilization.
  • Temperature uniformity within chamber ± 1-3 °C (or as specified, e.g., ± 2 °C) to ensure even sterilization across load.
  • Forced-air circulation system (blower/recirculation fan) to achieve rapid uniform heat distribution (mechanical convection type) rather than static gravity convection.
  • Capacity varies widely: from tens of liters (e.g., ~50 L) up to thousands of liters (e.g., 1000 L+), depending on chamber size and application.
  • Control system: Microprocessor or PLC based temperature/time control, digital timer, alarms for end-of-cycle or failures, often with data-logging/print function.
  • Door mechanism: Airtight seal (silicone gasket or similar), often with interlock/safety to prevent door opening during high temperature/heating phase.
  • Insulation: Double or triple-walled construction, with outer jacket, insulation (e.g., glass-wool) to maintain chamber temperature and reduce external heat loss.
  • Heating power: High wattage elements (heaters) integrated into chamber/air plenum; example: for 1200 L model, ~22 kW heating power in one manufacturer spec.
  • Applications: Suitable for sterilizing moisture-sensitive items—glassware, powders, instruments, vials, metal parts—especially where steam sterilization is not appropriate.
